Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is a superb area to enjoy walking. The scenery is beautiful and can be quite mountainous. The lack of crowds also adds to the feeling of remoteness. Most of the walks are in the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa regions.

In the files for download, I have shown the tracks for six walks and these follow the routes as described in the Rother Walking Guide to Costa Blanca by Gill Round. I have also included waypoints for the start of most of the walks in this book.

I found the following walking maps particularly useful:

Marina Alta Serra de Bernia (scale 1:20000)

Marinal Baixa Serra d’Aitana (scale 1:20000)

These are available from themapshop.

A walk up to the top of a huge limestone cliff that overlooks Calpe.

Puig Campana (16.5 km)

A circular walk up around the second highest mountain in the Costa Blanca with an optional visit to its summit.

Alto de la Pena de Sella and Penon Divino (11.7 km)

A circular walk amongst some of the most impressive scenery the Costa Blanca has to offer.
